What is a commercial register extract ?

The Commercial Register is a publicly accessible register. It contains information about essential legal and economic circumstances of merchants and enterprises in the district of a competent register court. This includes, among other things, the name, registered office, object of the company, authorised representatives (managing directors, shareholders, authorised signatories, board of directors), share capital and legal form of the company. An extract from the commercial register then contains the data on a specific company.

What Do I Need a Certified Translation of a commercial register extract for?

You need a certified translation of an extract from the commercial register if, for example, you want to establish a branch abroad, have to disclose ownership or have to file a tax declaration abroad. A certified translation may also be required for important legal transactions, such as credit agreements and other bank matters.

Where Do I Get a commercial register extract?

In Germany, you can obtain excerpts from the commercial register from the competent register court. You can apply for the excerpt in person or in writing. You can also request the extract in paper form as a simple or official printout or electronically as an uncertified or certified file.
